We are very proud of Tots and Time Out because it has grown from its very small roots to be not only our most diverse nursery in age range but also our head office.
Tots and Time Out is situated at 32-34 Eshton Road and is registered for 48 children aged 3 months to 11 years. It is easy to find on foot, by car or using public transport. There is ample parking outside the nursery in Eshton Road and Latimer Road.
We are open 51 weeks a year from 8.15am to 5.30pm and are happy to accept
children on a full or part time basis. The nursery is divided into three separate units according to age range and children are able to experience a smooth transition through the units to ensure they feel secure and happy during this most important time in their lives. Rooms are set up for specific activities and the children enjoy the use of a large garden as well as soft play indoor equipment.
Our Baby Unit provides specialist care for babies aged 3 to 18 months. We have two playrooms which are used by the babies, one organised for the very young ones and one for the slightly older group. Both rooms are delightfully decorated and well equipped to stimulate and engage the babies we care for.
When it is time for babies to move on they spend ‘taster’ sessions in the Toddler Unit before moving permanently at 18 months. This ensures they have adapted to the new playrooms and staff and can move confidently and happily to the next stage of their pre school life. The Toddler Unit has a beautiful playroom equipped for messy play, art activities and free play as well as a quiet room for sleeps and stories and a fabulous soft play room for energetic play.
After approximately a year in the Toddler Unit it is time to take the big step of moving into the Pre School Unit based on the first floor of the building. The Pre School Unit has an Imagination Room, equipped to encourage free play, an Art and Craft Room, a Computer Room , a Story Room, the Puzzle Place and The Learning Zone. Each of these rooms is designated for different types of play and education and the children maximise their enjoyment by moving from room to room throughout the day.
Children in the Pre School Unit stay in that unit until they commence formal education, although many of them return to attend our after school and holiday club called Time Out. They can use our club until they are eleven years of age and many enjoy seeing the same people who looked after them at nursery still providing fun and games out of school time.
Tots and Time Out was the first nursery in the area to receive a flawless OFSTED report and it continues to maintain an extremely high standard in both care and education.
