Would you like a job in childcare? We pride ourselves in providing training and consequent permanent positions to many of our staff.
We have a long and successful partnership with YMCA training who have provided Modern Apprenticeships, training and support for our student /trainees since 1990.
All trainees are expected to commit to NVQ 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education. This is a course which can vary in length according to the amount of time a candidate is prepared to commit and is of the same value as an NVQ completed at college.
The main difference with an NVQ that is completely work based, as it is at all Tots Nurseries, is that you have an opportunity to earn a training allowance whilst you are learning and gaining your qualification.
Most young people commence their training at age 17 or 18, although the training can be given free to any one under the age of 25. The training and support does not cost anything providing you complete the level 2 and 3 within a certain length of time; this can vary from candidate to candidate according to factors such as age, special needs and access to support from trainers and assessors.
Although the training allowance commences at quite a low rate, if you prove yourself to be a valuable member of staff you will quickly gain increases in your allowance and enhanced responsibilities within the nursery.
